Responsibilities for Network Engineer / Systems Administrator:

  • Configure, deploy, manage, and support secure Networks
  • Maintain and improve network infrastructure (routing/switching, VLANs, segmentation, wireless)
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across LAN/WAN, VPN, firewall, and performance-related incidents
  • Respond to and resolve client requests, incidents, and service tickets in a professional and timely manner
  • Perform proactive systems management, including monitoring, patching, updates, and lifecycle planning
  • Support system hardening and secure configuration practices for servers, endpoints, and network devices
  • Provide maintenance and operational support, including after-hours or scheduled maintenance windows as needed
  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgrades of IT infrastructure
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Ensure systems and configurations align with compliance standards, including NIST 800-171, and support audit readiness
  • Lead projects through planning, implementation, testing, documentation, and closeout with minimal supervision
  • Maintain documentation, including network diagrams, change records, configuration standards, and SOPs

Qualifications for Network Engineer / Systems Administrator:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experience
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plus
  • Certifications from Fortinet, Sophos, Palo Alto Networks, CompTIA or Microsoft certifications or Cisco or HP are all a plus
  • Working knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalent
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • Experience in a GovCloud environment
  • A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of networking, security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
  • Must be able to lift at least 25lbs
  • US Citizenship

Preferred Experience

  • Experience using remote management tools
  • Experience using security tools (Sentinel One, MS Defender, CrowdSstike etc.)
  • User Support/ IT Administration
  • Azure Administrator experience

Location:

· Melbourne, Florida (hybrid available) - Customer Onsite requirements

Security Clearance Requirement

  • Must be eligible for Public Trust Clearance with FAA, DHS and VA
